        Summary: Champion Scan collects only what's needed to run the service (your email and password). We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. You can request deletion of your account at any time.
    

1. Who We Are

Champion Scan ("we", "our", "the service") is a stock screening and analysis tool operated for educational purposes. It is currently in beta and free to use. Registered users are located primarily in the United States and European Union.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

Account data: Email address and hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
Portfolio data: Positions and watchlist entries you voluntarily add inside the app.
Usage data: Basic server logs (page requests, timestamps, IP addresses) for security and debugging. Logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days.
Cookies: A session cookie is used to keep you logged in. No third-party tracking cookies are set.

We do not collect payment information, phone numbers, real names, or location beyond your IP address.

Third-party services: This site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). When your browser fetches these fonts, your IP address is transmitted to Google. We use this service solely for visual presentation. No advertising or tracking cookies are set by this service. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in delivering a consistent user interface. If you wish to prevent this, you may use a browser extension that blocks Google Fonts requests.

3. How We Use Your Data

Authenticating your account and keeping your session secure.
Saving your portfolio and watchlist so they persist between sessions.
Sending service-related notifications (e.g., important account changes) if you opt in.
Diagnosing technical issues and improving service reliability.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated individual decision-making.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (EU/GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

Contract: Processing your email and password is necessary to create and maintain your account.
Legitimate interests: Server logs are retained for security purposes.
Consent: Any optional features (e.g., notifications) require your explicit opt-in.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not share it with third parties except:

Hosting infrastructure: Our server provider processes data on our behalf, under a Data Processing Agreement, solely to host the application.

6. Market Data

Stock prices, fundamentals, and related financial data are sourced from public data providers (including Yahoo Finance). This data is displayed for informational and educational purposes only. We do not store or resell third-party market data.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active.
Server logs are deleted after 30 days.
If you delete your account, all personal data is removed within 14 days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data ("right to be forgotten").
Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (EU/GDPR).

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing (bcrypt). All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to the database is restricted to the application server. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure — please use a unique password.

11. Children's Privacy

Champion Scan is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us.

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
